Candlelight Vigil Held in Tokyo in Memory of Flood Victims

Tokyo, Japan - After the catastrophic flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border a week ago, more than 1,000 people have died and nearly 4,000 more are missing, according to Nepal's disaster agency.

Kirat Rai Yayokkha, Tokyo, organized a candlelight vigil on September 6 at Solmari Mura Hall in Tokyo in memory and honor of those who lost their lives and families affected by the massive mudslide of Bhotekoshi in Nepal.

The program was held to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the devastating mudslide floods in Nepal, while expressing solidarity and sympathy with the injured and affected families.

Participants lit candles, praying for eternal peace for the departed souls. They also conveyed a message of solidarity, expressing that they stand with Nepalis affected by the natural disaster during this difficult and painful time.

Kirat Rai Yayokkha, Tokyo, expressed solidarity with Nepal and the Nepali people during this tragic period and extended its best wishes for the swift recovery of affected families and the creation of an environment conducive to their return to normal life.
