Tokyo, Japan - The fifth convention of the Tokyo Regional Committee of Kirat Rai Yayokkha Japan was successfully held in Tokyo on Sunday, April 14, 2024. The convention concluded with the election of a new executive committee that will lead the organization for the 2024–2026 term.

The event brought together members of the Kirat Rai community residing in Tokyo and surrounding areas. During the convention, discussions were held regarding the preservation, promotion, and continuation of the Kirat Rai community’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, language, and religious practices while living abroad. Participants also reflected on the organization’s past activities and outlined future plans to strengthen community unity and cultural engagement among the younger generation in Japan.

Following the democratic process of the convention, a new leadership team was elected to guide the Tokyo Regional Committee for the next two years. The newly elected committee consists of various positions including the president, vice presidents, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, joint treasurer, cultural coordinators, and members who will collectively work to achieve the organization’s goals.

On this occasion, the central committee of Kirat Rai Yayokkha Japan extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected leadership. The central leadership also expressed confidence that the new committee will play an important role in further strengthening the organization and continuing its mission of promoting Kirat Rai identity, culture, traditions, and community cooperation in Japan.

The newly formed committee is expected to organize various cultural, religious, and social activities in the coming years. These initiatives will include programs related to Kirat festivals, cultural performances, language preservation, youth engagement, and community support activities, aiming to keep the Kirat Rai heritage alive among the diaspora community in Japan.

Community leaders emphasized that organizations like Kirat Rai Yayokkha play a crucial role in connecting people living abroad with their roots. Through cultural events, gatherings, and community initiatives, the organization continues to provide a platform for members to celebrate their identity and maintain strong cultural ties.The convention concluded in a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere, with members expressing their commitment to working together for the growth and unity of the Kirat Rai community in Japan during the 2024–2026 tenure.
